AGGS School Outreach – Asaba

On Monday, July 7th, 2025, SheCares Health Initiative held its maiden school outreach at Anglican Girls Grammar School (AGGS), Asaba), reaching over 350 young girls with life-changing conversations around reproductive health.

Powerful Health Talk

The outreach featured a powerful health talk delivered by volunteer gynaecologists from the Nigerian Medical Association (FMC Asaba branch). Girls were educated on conditions such as PCOS, fibroids, endometriosis, and menstrual hygiene — breaking myths and empowering them with accurate knowledge

Educational Leaflets

Alongside the talk, SheCares distributed 230 educational leaflets and 250 packs of sanitary pads, ensuring the students not only heard the message but went home with tangible support. A School Ambassador Program was also launched, giving selected students the opportunity to continue spreading awareness among their peers.

Our Journey begins here.

This outreach sparked hope, confidence, and dialogue — showing these girls that reproductive health is nothing to be ashamed of, but something to understand, manage, and own.

In August 2025, SheCares hosted its first ever Twitter Space, titled “PCOS in Women and Other Conditions Affecting Fertility.”

The guest speaker, Dr. Ose, a seasoned gynaecologist, spent over two hours sharing insights, debunking myths, and answering pressing questions from women and young people across Nigeria and beyond.

The session provided clarity on PCOS, endometriosis, fibroids, and other fertility-related conditions, helping participants understand symptoms, treatment options, and the importance of early medical consultation.
